My favorite image of an Irish couple who I used to represent Sean’s parents. I named them Darragh and Diedre McNally.

Have you ever seen such Irish characters?

During my early research, I found this early daguerreotype which used the collodion process. I put them on my desktop and started writing a story about the old man who was a fiddle player. As a result of research into the daguerreotype process, I decided to have Sean learn photography as part of his journey.

The medal on Darragh’s coat was awarded him for his service with Sandham’s Battery, Royal Irish Field Artillery, during the war with Napoleon.
